Death
Based on that one comic by that Neil Gaiman guy. You know the one... dustman. Anyway, yeah, I've actually never read Sandman, but I've seen PLENTY of Death artwork. When commissioned to do this, I just went with the general visual and emotion that I got from the character. This is one of my favorites because it's so simple and yet so effective. I love it when I don't have to spend hours rending something for the viewer to get it. THe worst thing to make in this entire piece was that tree.
Tali's Swimsuit
So this commission was for Tali in a swimsuit. The problem is, I couldn't think of how a quarrian could wear a swimsuit. SO I came up with this, a transparent encounter suit. Right now we don't know the quarrian skin color, so I just went with purple. Once the skin color is revealed, I will alter the color. I have no idea what's going on underneath Tali's hood, so I came up with an idea of wires that serve an aesthetic function and a practical function. Not only do those wires give the impression of hair, they filter the air. At least, that's my logic. I'm sure it's explained in detail in a videogame novel that I have no intention of reading.
Rogue Takes the Gloves Off
A summer commission that was kind of non specific. Basically he wanted a picture of rogue that didn't have her wearing her typical costume getting ready for a fight. So I thought of the typical comic book cliche scenario where a thug steals some old ladies purse and Rogue uses her mutant power to stop him.I'm experimenting with action poses, LOD, and perspective in this one. The pose will likely receive some criticism because arm chair art crtics won't hesitate to bray on what they think is an impossible pose. Meanwhile they use shit like Poser to determine how the human body works.

Harpy Lady
I made this in a fit of rage because it seemed as though the person who commissioned it didn't trust me to make their commission. Maybe it was a misperception on my part, but I'm getting to the point where my philosophy is "I have a gallery on DA of Hundreds of pieces, if you don't know what to expect and won't trust me to be me, then why commission me?" All that being said. I LOVE the way this turned out.
